An Executive Order Ensuring Our History is Secure 

[This Executive Order was signed yesterday by President Trump. Here he shares why such an order is even necessary. His administration is ensuring that the far-left socialist revisionists can not make any more headway in trying to rewrite American history. For this, we should be thankful.]

“Our mission is to defend the legacy of America’s founding, the virtue of America’s heroes, and the nobility of the American character. We must clear away the twisted web of lies in our schools and classrooms, and teach our children the magnificent truth about our country. We want our sons and daughters to know that they are the citizens of the most exceptional nation in the history of the world.

“Some have warped, distorted, and defiled the American story with deceptions, falsehoods, and lies. There is no better example than the New York Times’ totally discredited 1619 Project. This project rewrites American history to teach our children that we were founded on the principle of oppression, not freedom.

“Nothing could be further from the truth. America’s founding set in motion the unstoppable chain of events that abolished slavery, secured civil rights, defeated communism and fascism, and built the most fair, equal, and prosperous nation in human history.

“Students in our universities are inundated with critical race theory. This is a Marxist doctrine holding that America is a wicked and racist nation, that even young children are complicit in oppression, and that our entire society must be radically transformed. Critical race theory is being forced into our children’s schools, it’s being imposed into workplace trainings, and it’s being deployed to rip apart friends, neighbors, and families.

“Critical race theory, the 1619 Project, and the crusade against American history is toxic propaganda, ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civic bonds that tie us together. It will destroy our country. The only path to national unity is through our shared identity as Americans. That is why it is so urgent that we finally restore patriotic education to our schools.

“The National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded a grant to support the development of a pro-American curriculum that celebrates the truth about our nation’s great history.

“Today,  [I signed] an Executive Order establishing a national commission to promote patriotic education. It will be called the 1776 Commission. It will encourage our educators to teach our children about the miracle of American history.”

“Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you.” (Deuteronomy 32:7; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

• Thank God for establishing the United States of America and carrying us forward for 244 years.
• Identificationally repent for those that are attempting to rewrite our history, portraying it in a way that does not honor God. 
• Thank the Lord for forgiving us and helping us to overcome the sins of slavery and other racist mindsets and activities that harmed large portions of our society. 
• Ask God to minister in a deeper way to those who still feel the pain of injustice. 
• Declare, “The history of America is secure! God will be honored through the truthful teaching of it. Americans will celebrate together the blessings the Lord has bestowed upon this nation.” 
• Intercede for the development of the 1776 Commission and the curriculum that will tell of the miracle of America. 

A prayer you can pray:

God, we thank You for this exceptional nation. We thank You for its rich history and the unfolding of Your dream in its establishment. This country has stood for 244 years, overcoming many obstacles. You have blessed us richly and abundantly and we are fulfilling our purpose. The enemy hates that! He has put ideas in the heads of some who do not know You. They want to make this nation look like a nation of oppressors. They want us to feel ashamed. But that is not the story. The story is one of overcoming. It is one of rejecting injustice over time and continuing to fight forward together. We forgive those who persist in dividing us. Set them free, Lord. Heal the hearts of those who come from families that have suffered great injustice, and may yet need help to move forward. We will all gain more freedom as we prefer one another in love and honor truth. 

We say that the history of America is secure! God will be honored through the truthful teaching of it. Americans will celebrate together the blessings the Lord has bestowed upon this nation. We are grateful for the 1776 Commission and for the new patriotic curriculum being written. May it only ever be truthful. May it tell the story of America by honoring Your establishment of it and Your involvement in it. May it tell the story of all those amazing Americans that became the fabric of it—every race, creed, and background. This is America, land that we love! To You be all the glory, Jesus. Amen.
