Jesus Is Our Peace

We often pray for Jesus to give us peace. We lay hands on the traumatized and ask the Lord to bestow His peace on the afflicted one in place of the anxiety they are experiencing. But we need to look at what the Bible actually says about peace.

In John 14:27, Jesus promised us that He would give us His peace. In Ephesians 2:14, the Bible tells us that Jesus is our peace. Isaiah 9:6 lists many names for Jesus and one of them is “Prince of Peace”. When we put that all together, we see that Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He is actual, tangible peace. He wants to be that peace which reigns in us as we entrust our lives to His loving care.

The stuff of earth will never be able to take His place as Peace in the midst of the storms we face. He is unshakeable! Relationships can’t be stable enough. Health won’t give it to us. Financial stability won’t provide it. It can only come from Jesus, our Rock and our Redeemer, our Fortress and our Friend. Only Jesus can be our peace. We must know Jesus. Then we can say, “On Christ the solid Rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand.” We must have Jesus. Invite Him to be Your Peace today. Now, go introduce Him to those who are fearful around you.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
  • Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you.
  • Intercede for those you know who are fearful, especially in light of current events.
  • Say over the nation, “Jesus come and BE Prince of Peace over America! We say, ‘You did not come to simply give us peace. We declare You are our Peace.’”
  • Find someone to minister the love and peace of Christ to today.

A prayer you can pray:

Jesus, Prince of Peace, come and be my peace today! You are a peace-filled safe haven of love. You are a solid, immovable, unchanging Rock. You are my fortress and strong tower of safety. I can trust You! You have saved me from all the plans the devil had to destroy me. You are my Healer and Provider. You are worthy of all of my worship. Knowing You, how can I ever be afraid? Fear is the exact opposite of Who You are. I ask You for a divine exchange of all of my worry and anxiety for Your nature of Peace.

I pray the same for those I know who are fearful today. I intercede for a nation in panic, looking for answers. You are the only answer to crisis and stability, Jesus. Come and BE Prince of Peace over America! I say, “You did not come to simply give us peace.” I declare, “You are our Peace!” Amen.

Today’s decree:

Jesus is our peace!
