You Always Have Access to My Court
During the fourth of July weekend in 2004, Lou Engle felt led to go to Philadelphia where the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were written and the beginnings of our nation took place. One of his ministry partners had a dream. Lou recalls, “I was pregnant with the God-thought of renewing covenant with God on behalf of America and decreeing a shift over the Supreme Court. My friend had a dream that night and in the dream he and I were rushing to get to a basketball court. Once we burst through the doors of the basketball court, we apologized to the person in authority over the basketball court for being late. The person responded, ‘You are not late. You always have access to my court.’ Then, we noticed that there were nine chairs in the middle of the court and two of the seats were unoccupied. My friend and I were then invited by the person in authority to possess those two open seats and officiate over the court. We felt that the dream was declaring that two seats on the Supreme Court were opening and that the Church must sit in authority and proclaim righteous justices for those seats.”
“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts.” (Zechariah 3:7; NIV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Even though the security at the Supreme Court does not allow Christians to stop and pray there, the building belongs to the people, just like the White House and U. S. Capitol buildings. Declare, “The Church always has access to the U. S. Supreme Court.”
- Intercede for the Body of Christ to walk in greater fear of the Lord and obedience to the Lord. This is what creates Divine access.
- Repent, if you find yourself more politically-motivated than prayer-motivated when it comes to the actions of our Court and government.
- We have access everywhere in intercession. Call the Court to line up with God’s sovereign order and plan for America’s future.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, the security guards at the U. S. Supreme Court often try to stop Christians from praying there. That is not okay. If they only knew what a blessing our intercession can be. We pray for the welfare of the justices and their staffs. We pray for constitutional and righteous judgements. We pray for justice, truth, mercy and life! We say, “The Church always has access to the U. S. Supreme Court.” It is the Court that represents all the people of this great nation. If there is anything in us that limits our access, Lord, we repent. Increase the fear of the Lord and obedience to Your Word and Holy Spirit leading, so that we can govern in intercession. Remove political thinking from us and give us the mind of Christ. Move us to intercession where we have access to all things. From that vantage point, we call our Supreme Court to line up with Your sovereign order and plan for America. In the name of Jesus, amen.
Today’s decree:
The praying Church always has access to the Supreme Court!
