A Higher Judge
“The U.S. Supreme Court and our Federal District and Circuit Courts of Appeal are now packed with judges who believe in a living, breathing Constitution that can be interpreted so as to change with the times. As morals in culture change, so do the moral standards by which some Judges interpret the Constitution. If a judge believes strongly in an issue about which the Constitution does not speak, he can ‘discover penumbras’ (i.e., shadows) in the Constitution or draw his authority from thin air. This has gone way too far for the American people. If it is not changed by our president, our experiment in self-rule, our republic, will be over. He must choose judges to serve at every level who believe in judicial restraint and originalism, and who believe that there is a higher law and a Higher Judge than themselves.” (Pierre Bynum)1
“The grass withers, the open flower fades; but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” (Isaiah 40:8; TJB)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Declare, “There is a Judge that is higher than any earthly judge – God Most High!”
- Declare, “We will have judges that humbly bow the knee to the Highest Judge of all!”
- Call forth the judges who honor judicial restraint and original constitutional interpretation.
- Close the door to judicial interpretation of the U.S. Constitution from a position of current moral standards or vague penumbras.
A prayer you can pray:
God, You are the Judge of the whole earth. You are righteous and true and your judgements are altogether perfect. We are safe when You are honored as the ultimate Judge. We desire judges who look to You and Your Word as the ultimate standard from which they rule. Our Constitution was based on the principles of Your Word. We desire it to be honored. No more judicial interpretation from a standpoint of current moral standards or shadowy penumbras. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
Today’s decree:
Our judges must bow to the Highest Judge!
