President Trump Gives Credit to God

“’Faith is more powerful than government, and nothing is more powerful than God,’ President Trump said, then launched into the story of Jon Ponder, who is now the CEO and founder of Hope for Prisoners, Inc. ‘Jon … ended up in federal prison, relegated to solitary confinement. That’s where God found him,’ continued the President. ‘Jon began to read the Bible and listen to Christian radio. One morning at 2am he woke up to the voice of the great Billy Graham … ‘Jesus wants to be Lord of your life.’ That night Jon dedicated his life to Christ…’ Trump continued, ‘Your story (Jon) reminds us that prayer changes hearts and transforms lives. It uplifts the soul, inspires action and unites us all as one nation under God.’” (President Trump)1

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1-2; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Bless President Donald J. Trump for openly and unashamedly acknowledging the transforming power of faith in Jesus Christ. That faith saves and transforms individuals and, ultimately, the nation itself.
  • Bless him that He acknowledges the power of God over the power of government, effectively humbly submitting himself to that loving Power.
  • Ask God for more lives transformed by the work of faith leading to salvation.
  • Pray for a harvest of souls in your neighborhood, city and state. The more saved, the more the nation can shift.

A prayer you can pray:

We bless President Donald J. Trump. How refreshing to have a president that openly and unashamedly acknowledges the transforming faith of Jesus Christ. He publicly stated that this faith transforms lives and, ultimately, can transform our nation. We bless him as he humbly stated that Your power is over any power that would come from government, including his own decisions. He, therefore, is submitting himself to that great power and grace. Father, respond to the president’s words over this nation and power out a new wave of salvation. Holy Spirit, draw the lost to Jesus! Shift our cities, states, and nation to a God-honoring society, as many come to Christ. Amen.
