Intercession for America’s Leadership

[Dave Kubal, CEO of Intercessors for America will exhort us to pray today.]

“The Lord continually has me pray Romans 13. It says there is no authority that has been created, except that which has been created by God. God has created America’s government, just as He has all governments around the globe. Not only that, but He has created this government with a purpose in His heart for this nation to accomplish. We don’t believe God is done with this nation.

“The other scriptural promise I rely on is 2 Chronicles 7:14, ‘If My people who are called by My name would humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ See, God has invited us to make history through prayer. So, we have the opportunity to participate with Him, and to pray and to seek God’s face. That’s for this nation, for our children, and our children’s children’s future.

“I don’t want to say a lot more. I want us to have time today to pray specifically for a number of governing leaders from the President and Vice President to Cabinet members, members of both houses of our Congress, and our Supreme Court Justices. May God richly bless America!”

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we come before You now and lift up the President of the United States of America Donald John Trump, together with Vice President Mike Pence. Speak to President Trump in the quietness of the night. Speak to his heart and give him wisdom and understanding. We lift up Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader McConnell. In their leadership within this government and all that they oversee, give them wisdom and understanding. We need it. It is only You that can bring a spiritual answer to the problems we are seeing in our nation today. 

We pray for the congressional minority leaders and those in the president’s cabinet. Each of these people desperately needs to hear from You. Whether they know You or not, they need Your wisdom and guidance, for You have put them in their places. They need wisdom from above; wisdom from You. We ask that the power of Your Holy Spirit would dispatch that wisdom.

You have called this nation into being for a purpose. We know You still have that purpose in Your heart. There are still things You want this nation to accomplish. You want it to accomplish the spreading of the Gospel throughout all of the world. You want religious freedoms to be protected. You want the value of life to be communicated across this globe. We pray into the covenant You made with our country through our founding fathers. Activate that covenant in this day. Your Word says, “Return to Me and I will return to you. So, Lord, we return to You today. We return to You so that the destiny of this nation would be accomplished. We ask You for all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, amen.
