Beautiful Jesus
[Michael Koulianos, a prominent evangelist, will be sharing with us today.]
“I see that the Gospel is becoming paramount today. Jesus is becoming more prominent and the glorious Gospel is becoming more and more beautiful to those that love Jesus. Each aspect of Jesus feels like something we could spend our entire lives teaching on. I could spend the rest of my life teaching on the incarnation of Christ. Or, I could spend it on teaching about the shed blood of Jesus. How about the burial and resurrection? One thing, in fact, that the Lord is wanting to give the Church right now is the loss of the fear of death.
“Chew on Hebrews 2 for a while. Hebrews 2:14 teaches us that He became flesh and blood so that He could destroy the one that had the power of death, the devil, so that the great tyrant, which is the fear of death, could be eternally destroyed. So, when we see Jesus in His might and in His power, His heart is that we lose even the fear of death. As we lose the fear of death, we lose every other fear. People don’t have a fear of flying; they have a fear of dying. People aren’t just claustrophobic; they have a fear of dying. A fear of heights is rooted in a fear of dying, etc. So, today more than ever, in the midst of this pandemic, we need to understand that Jesus Christ has conquered the grave. The grave could not hold Him. Because He has been raised, we have been raised with Him. The scripture says it was not possible for the grave to hold Him. That’s because He is perfect, mighty, and victorious.
“There is a fresh emergence of the Gospel, the Good News, the story of Jesus, and how vast, how wide, how beautiful Jesus is. This harvest is about Jesus the Evangelist arising in our hearts. I believe that media is going to become a means by which this last sickle sweep—this Great Harvest—is going to take place. None of us is going to stop going into the nations to tell others about Jesus, but for a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the time, millions are coming to Jesus faster than ever before in all of history. There are two things we can do right now to participate. First, spend a ton of time with Him. Learn to abide with Him. As we have passed through Pentecost, the Lord Himself is taking the field. The Lord Himself is doing what we could never do. He is multiplying Himself. Choose to be one that tells others about our beautiful Savior, Jesus Christ.”
“Jesus drew near and said to them, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:18-20; GNT)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Spend some time telling Jesus just how beautiful He is. Learn to abide with Him.
- Tell Jesus how thankful you are that He saved You.
- If you have any inkling of the fear of death in you, ask Him to minister to that area and remove it, so you can fearlessly preach His glorious Gospel to the unsaved.
- Ask Him to reveal Himself in even greater glory to you, so You are filled up and overflowing with love for Him.
- Choose to be one that tells others about our beautiful Savior, Jesus Christ.
- Read Hebrews 2 slowly, meditating on the content. Even pray through it as you read it thinking of all those who need to know this only One whose power can save them from death, hell, and the grave.
A prayer you can pray:
Jesus, You are beautiful. Your story is beautiful. What You did for us on the cross is terrible and glorious. How I long to draw away with You to learn more about You. Draw me Lord. Speak to me and teach me of Your love and power. I need to experience You in a deeper way, but not to hide away. I am done hiding out in fear. I long to overcome my fear of death, so I can rock the world for You. I want to know You to make You known. I want others to know how free You can make them, too. Reveal Your Glory to the world through Your glorious Bride, the Church.
You gave us a mandate as You physically left the earth. You said to make disciples of all nations. Ah, and what disciples would I make? I will make disciples that know You only as I am able to reveal You to them, Jesus, so I must see You in more glory! As I meditate on Hebrews 2, I see the greatest Savior giving us the greatest salvation. I see You testified to by signs, wonders, and miracles, and by gifts manifested by the Holy Spirit. I see Your incredible love for humanity that You humbled Yourself and came down to the earth, so You could relate to us and redeem us in the flesh. Facing death, You tasted death, so mankind would not have to. You were tempted, so we could overcome. Such a great love! Jesus, all my love I bestow upon You, because You are worthy of it. Fill me and pour me out into this harvest. Amen.
Today’s decree:
We will go to all people everywhere and tell them about Jesus!
