Pastors—God’s Front Line
Pastors are in the forefront in America’s communities—leading and teaching their people how to exhibit God’s heart of compassion, mercy and grace. They call us to acknowledge our responsibility to share the gospel, feed the hungry, clothe the poor. They marry us and bury us. They preach, counsel, visit the sick and oversee countless details. Let’s remember to pray daily for them. (Quin Sherrer)1
Scripture: “With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, my words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” (Ephesians 6:18-19; NIV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Pray for the pastors you know that they may be bold in sharing Biblical truths in the pulpit and community.
- Ask the Lord to let peace reign in their homes.
- Pray protection over them and bless their families.
- Ask the Lord to send the Holy Spirit to encourage and guide them in all their decisions.
A prayer you can pray:
Lord, thank you for the pastors who intercede in prayer for our needs and concerns and also for our nation. Give them wisdom beyond their experience for the tasks they daily face. Meet their spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s decree:
May our nation’s pastors feel loved, and be strengthened and renewed by our intercession for them today!
