Praying His Prayers

“We have emphasized faith to such an extreme that without much thought (seeking) we begin to make our faith statements and decrees and declarations and blowing our shofars and waving our banners. Rarely do we stop to ask God how He views what is happening and what He would have us to do or to pray. Unfortunately, we now have such a ‘conditioned response’ when a call for prayer comes forth, that we pray our prayer. Too often, we fail to pray HIS prayer. It can take patient waiting upon the Lord for revelation and discernment to come. Often, it involves searching the scriptures with Holy Spirit leading us and guiding us in what we should pray or, in some instances, what we should do. There is such an intimacy in seeking the Lord in this way. The whole process develops our faith and renews our minds, as we begin to see some patterns of heaven. We can know God and His ways more than ever before. I do think that many of us have neglected this handiwork of God deep within our soul.” (Delbra Pratt)1

“Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.” (Psalm 42:7; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Repent for the times you have done things your own way, without seeking Him.
  • Sit quietly with Him for a bit today. Don’t talk. Just be.
  • Ask Him if there is anything He would like you to pray about for America today.
  • Intercede or declare what He says. He may direct you to scripture, as well.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, forgive me for just jumping in and starting to pray and act without Your direction. I love You and love relationships are based on intimacy. I want to just sit here in silence with You for a while today. If there’s anything You want me to know about, anything You want to show me or teach me, or anything You want me to pray, especially about this country, go ahead and tell me about it. (Intercede or declare or act on what He reveals to you.) Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

I decree that the Ekklesia will be known as those that seek the Lord for His heart and His prayer assignments for this nation.
