Breaking It Down

Every part of Matthew 16:19 can be seen to be a governmental passage. “I will give them the keys to the kingdom,” means, “I am going to give them governmental authority in My Kingdom. They’re going to bind”. That’s a governmental term in Greek. It’s the Greek word “deo”, meaning to legally bind something. “They will loose.” “Loose” is “luo”. It means, “to dissolve a contract or anything else that legally binds.” This all means, “This is My Ekklesia. They are going to go in and say, ‘This is not legal. You cannot do this!” It’s not that we march into D. C. and tell the government what to do. It’s that we do this in the spiritual realm and it begins to infiltrate and change things in the earth.

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

• Let’s make this current. Take a look at the news out of our nation’s capital today. Some people need to get fired.
• Decree that there are those that will be fired or not re-elected as a result of ungodly decisions they made on behalf of the people they represent.
• Bind the spirit of the age that blinds men to righteous and wise decisions and has them follow the current liberal agenda and politically correct thinking. It’s foolish and eternally-costly thinking.
• Loose a holy boldness on the men and women of God in Congress that they are able to stand up for righteousness and godliness, and write wholesome laws and take God-fearing actions in our nation without fear. God will back them up!

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we are going to be bold enough to say that over the next few years You are going to fire some people in government positions. You are going to remove people from office that have opposed You and Your ways. You are going to take influence away from people who had influence and You are going to give it to others. You are going to give us godly leaders who know Your ways, who believe in the authority of scripture, and understand why we exist as a nation and the foundations upon which we were built. Congressional leaders are going to do more than pass human laws. They are going to say, “This is what the King says!” Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We decree that our Congressional leaders who know the Lord are going to do more than pass human laws. They are going to legislate into the legislative branch of our government laws that are God’s idea!
