Civil Reformation

The United States of America has been given an opportunity with this election. It is not enough to just tear things down in a spiritual sense. We must now build up. We must move forward to create structures. We now need to put city and state laws and structures in place that work together with church groups to change our cities and meet the needs of the people that live there. The Reconciled Church has lots of ideas to help us know how to institute societal transformation. We are going to be able to see our government help fund some programs that the Church develops. We have been locked up, but things have shifted. We have an open door at this point to pray and act. (Harry Jackson)

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.  You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Tell the Lord that you want to be a builder, a planter, a civil reformer!
  • Go to the Reconciled Church. Read through the transformation stories there. Pray for your city and the cities around you, as you read the testimonies.
  • Ask the Lord if there is anything you can do toward transformation of the city you live in. Write down some things you can do or steps you can take toward this end. Now, go do it!
  • Pray for righteous laws to be passed in the new Trump administration that will help American cities solve their problems of systemic poverty, joblessness, homelessness, etc.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, I want to be one that builds and plants in the natural, not just uproots and tears down in prayer. I want to be a civil reformer, one that transforms the city I live in. As I read the stories at Reconciled Church, drop Your Holy Ghost ideas in my heart. Show me what things I can do to make a difference in my city. Huge problems, like generational poverty and joblessness, seem insurmountable, but You know the one thing that can get the ball rolling. Show the Church how to gain access to government funding to help solve these problems. Help us not to be afraid to do this! Help us expand Your Kingdom in practical ways, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church is getting ready to build up where we have spiritually “torn down”. We are about to enter a season of “civil reformation!”
