God’s Choice to Turn a Nation (Louisiana Abortion Case at the SCOTUS TODAY!)

I have often encouraged believers to judge what God is doing in America—not by what they see or hear naturally—but by the spirit. Elijah “saw” and “heard” drought-breaking rain (the sign of God’s favor returning to Israel) before there was even a cloud in the sky (see 1 Kings 18:41). Likewise, in today’s America, the moral depravity and staggering departure from God and our Christian roots can easily mask what He is doing.

However, a huge sign was given to us three years ago when God began using one of the most unlikely men in America to trumpet a political message: “drain the swamp” and “make America great again.” I would have chosen an individual with a great moral record, sound theology, a worshipping heart and true humility. God chose Donald J. Trump. And it has been oh-so-refreshing to watch him buck the system and expose the evil agendas of Washington DC. The far left (as does the kingdom of darkness) hates him.

Why was Trump’s election so angering to the left? Through government, media, education and entertainment, there has been a successful, full-on 60-70 year effort to reshape America, turning us from our Christian roots and our God-given destiny, which is to be the leading voice of the gospel and liberty around the world. (This, probably unbeknownst to POTUS, is our nation’s true greatness.) Trump’s win interrupted and is even reversing this antichrist momentum. His federal judges and Supreme Court appointments alone (with more coming) have been an immeasurable setback to the left. Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, stated recently: “We can withstand one term, but the destruction he would do to the courts in our country [if he is given 4 more years] …he must be defeated!” She and her far left allies were nearly rabid with anger and hatred at the State of the Union address. They know their agenda is being thwarted.

God’s divine reversal isn’t finished, however. The exposing of evil will continue, as will the turnaround. This year, 2020, is the hinge year. If we persist, the door into America’s great revival and resurrection will swing open fully this year. And we will.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Are you able to see past natural national circumstances and into what God is doing?
  • Write down at least one thing you know God is doing in America, even if the media, left-leaning politicians, and others are trying to ignore, cover over, or discredit it.
  • Louisiana’s abortion case will be heard at the Supreme Court TODAY. Intercede for the turning around of abortion. Let the nation choose LIFE!
  • Consider some things that President Trump has done that have surprised you, such as returning prayer to schools, enacting protections for the unborn, ensuring the protection of religious freedoms, filling the courts with conservative judges, and acknowledging Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. 
  • Have you heard news of national revivals? They are happening! 
  • Keep praying for God to arise and all of His enemies to be scattered!

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, let Your Church not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So often, we get really tired and stop right when You are about to move! It is the same in a natural birth. The mama wants to see that baby, but she gets so tired in the transition period, that she wants to stop. Her doctor, midwife, and husband must often whole-heartedly encourage her to press in and keep going, because the baby is almost there! Let the intercessors be as midwives right now. The enemy’s attacks are growing stronger, which means we are almost there! You have been moving, You are moving! We are about to see the things we have contended for becoming reality. Laws are changing. People are moving out and moving into place. Culture is slowly changing. We cannot grow weary now! 

Louisiana’s case is at the Supreme Court today. It is a case that could be the beginning of the end of aboriton in America. We must pray today and throughout the next couple of weeks, while the justices make their decision. President Trump has positioned constitutional justices on the Court and we pray they can find the reason to support Louisiana and their Unsafe Abortion Protections Act. There are so many things this President has done to support Life. Thank You for giving this man to our nation, even though he is an unusual choice. You knew what was in him. You knew what the nation needed. 

Lord, move now to give us more than a governmentally-changed culture. Give us a spiritually changed one. Give us the harvest we long for—a harvest of souls! That and that alone can secure a nation that honors You and holds onto the cultural changes for our children and grandchildren. We ask this in Jesus’ name, amen.
