The Fear of the Lord and the Coronavirus

“As I prepared to participate in the Global Day of Prayer called by Cindy Jacobs and many other respected leaders, I heard the Lord say that the tactic of the enemy against the global church right now is to knock the wind out of it via the spirit of fear. He is trying to spread a pandemic of fear in the church of Jesus Christ. He knows that if he can blindside us with demonic fear, the fear of the Lord will be overtaken and the doorway to wisdom on how to pray and decree against this thing will be closed. Understanding will be lost and confusion will come.

“The Lord then said that what the enemy is trying to do is grip the church with Nosophobia. 

“What is Nosophobia?

“Nosophobia is defined as ‘the irrational fear of contracting a disease.’ ‘Nosos’ is the greek word for disease. 

“To the believer in the fullness of Christ, fear should be irrational, because God has not given us a spirit of fear (1 Timothy 1:7). We are to push back against the demonic spirit of fear and stand in the fear of the Lord. Wisdom on how to pray and decree will only come when we are grounded in the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord will set you free and keep you free from the snare of death that is this irrational demonic fear.

“The Lord then showed me this word ‘Nosos’ in scripture. He pointed me to Luke 9:1 – And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. The word ‘diseases’ in the text is the word nosos. God has given his sons and daughters, those who stand in the fear of the Lord, legal right to overturn disease and cast out fear. You see Jesus and his disciples dealing with nosos (disease) over and over in scripture, so He has set a ‘not on my watch’ biblical precedent that fear and this disease has to bow before the King of kings.” (Anthony Medina) 

“Where can wisdom be found? It is born in the fear of God. Everyone who follows his ways will never lack his living-understanding.” (Psalms 111:10; TPT)

“The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death.” (Proverbs 14:27; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer (by, Anthony Medina):

  • Cast off the restraint of fear!
  • Bow before God Almighty in reverential and holy fear.
  • Receive Divine wisdom and strategy.
  • Overturn this demon of disease.

A prayer you can pray:

God, I come to You reminding myself of Who You are. You are God Almighty, You made the heavens and the earth and all that is in it. You are worthy of my worship! You are worthy of my whole-hearted commitment. I choose to fear You, Lord, and to ask for a grace to fear nothing and none other than You. Your perfect love casts out my fear. I need a revelation of the depth of Your love! The Church needs a revelation of how deeply we are loved by You. Knowing that causes us to bow deeply before Your wonderful throne of grace, to find grace to help in time of need. Lord, You are worthy of my worship.

I will not fear the coronavirus, if I am walking in a holy, reverential fear of You! I will seek You for Divine strategy for how to pray and how to act. I want to be an example of the Believers in this international trial. Show me what scriptures to use as a sword of the Lord. Show me what to decree. I declare that this demonic plague will be stopped. Like Aaron, I will run to intercede between this unseen viral foe and the people, whom You deeply love. Save them, Jesus. Give them an opportunity to come to know You as their loving Savior, amen.

We choose the fear of the Lord, our Fountain of Life, and turn away from the snares of death!
