The War We Never Wanted to Fight
“When you think about America, you think about freedom. I believe we have been in a war over freedom more than we realize. Unless you travel widely, you don’t realize the levels of restraints on freedom that exist worldwide. It’s one thing to be free as a nation. It’s another thing to be free in the Lord in a nation. Those that framed the Constitution somehow knew that God had a plan for the fledgling nation they were putting together. I believe they worked as hard as they could to get that recorded as the Lord communicated. The Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, all of that, was developed to bring us into a new place of freedom so we could really experience the Lord in a new way. That was the whole purpose of it.
“I believe we went into some major war over freedom at 9/11 when the world was awakened to the real war that was there. I got so much flack when I wrote, “Future War of the Church”, because I wrote we were going into war. I wrote about the kind of war we would be going into. There was a major push against it. The Body didn’t want to awaken to the war, because of the type of prayer structures we were largely involved in. God kept showing me where we were going, however, and I could see the way ahead. I asked Him how we win the war and His response was, “You have to learn to play the trump card.” I think we have resisted learning how to play the trump card. I think those that control the Constitution now resist playing the trump card. You don’t have to like the trump card. You just have to know how to play it. You don’t have to like any card in the deck, but you need to know how powerful the trump card is and when it needs to be played.” (Chuck Pierce)
“When you go out to war against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. And when you draw near to the battle, the priest shall come forward and speak to the people and shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’” (Deuteronomy 20:1-4; ESV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- If you don’t like spiritual warfare, get in God’s Presence until you see His vision for the nation and why you need to be engaged.
- Read the passage from Deuteronomy above and hear your High Priest, Jesus, speak the pre-battle encouragement over you.
- Commit to fight the good fight for freedom for your children and grandchildren.
- Learn what it means to play the trump card in the natural, so you can play it in intercession.
A prayer you can pray:
Lord, we have been in a long season of spiritual warfare in this nation. Beginning just before 9/11, we have prayed and warred against the evil one and his plans. We did not imagine we would end up in physical battles. We grow weary at times and we need Your refreshing and encouragement to keep going. Jesus, we hear You speaking words that get us up and engaged again: “Hear, O Church, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, for the Lord your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.” If You did not send us, go with us, and fight alongside us, we could never even think to go up against the enemy. We will go up with You, Lord. For the sake of our children and grandchildren, we will fight to maintain the covenant You established with our forefathers in America. We will fight to maintain the freedoms they carefully determined were those You desired to grant to us. Teach us to play the trump card in intercession in order to win this battle for our nation. Amen.
Today’s decree:
Our freedom is worth learning to play the Trump card!
