A President Under Fire and in Need of Prayer
I don’t know many people who could weather the attacks that President Trump does. Many times it seems like he can hardly breathe without the press or his political rivals attacking. Many changes have occurred in the President’s staff and Cabinet again recently. Many changes may still need to happen. Everywhere we are hearing, “Impeach him!” Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, even made a decision to start impeachment inquiry before there were any charges! Has the government gone mad?
The prophets said this was coming! President Trump is a very bold man. No one could ever accuse him of not speaking his mind! One Christian prophet has likened him to General Patton – a man respected by those he led, but who was rough around the edges. I’ve always liked Patton. I do, however, see a need for the President to seek God, not just his advisors, for increased wisdom. I am convinced he will be known as President Donald John Trump, his full legal name, before his term is out. He has given us more than a strong economy and jobs. He is restoring religious freedom and putting judges in the courts, even 2 Supreme Court justices. He stands for life and the Lord will honor that. We must pray for that encounter of intimacy with the Lord in this next year.
“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” (James 4:8; NLT)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Ask God to give our president increased, and increasing, wisdom.
- Intercede for him in this season of upheaval, asking God to use the challenges to draw him close and teach him His ways.
- Many on President Trump’s staff, as well as cabinet members and advisors are men and women of consistent prayer. Pray that their advice will be more and more God’s advice.
- Declare that our president will never lose his boldness – in fact, it will keep increasing!
- Intercede for him, asking the Lord for that encounter He has promised through the prophets, in which he is transformed into Donald John Trump.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, I am asking You to give President Trump wisdom. I respect him, but in areas where he may not be using Your wisdom, show him Your ways. I say he is going to grow in wisdom. May he never lose his boldness! Let his boldness be more and more tempered by the Holy Spirit and by wisdom. I pray that as long as he is in the White House, he will have a backbone of steel. When he knows that something is right, don’t let him bend. I’m asking You to show him what to do as he appoints judges and other key governmental positions. Don’t let him deviate to the right or the left, but let him always appoint the ones that You want. We are so thankful for Your people that You have positioned near Him. Let him hear Your voice through them, but also seek You directly. Let that day arrive, as foretold by Your prophets, in which He encounters the living God. Let his character and name be changed to fit that new man. May he be known as Donald John Trump. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Today’s decree:
President Trump will know the Lord and be forever changed. He will continue to change the nation, as God changes him!
