Jesus’ Response to a Heart Cry of Frustration – Part 3
“The Lord whispered to me again, ‘These places of the greatest pain, the greatest despair, trauma, and hopelessness are becoming some of the greatest pillars of “stones of remembrance” in the lives of My people.’ (Joshua 4)
“These places of the deepest struggle, pain, and heartache are the places of the greatest encounter with Jesus. Jesus is stepping in. The Holy Spirit is doing what only He can do. You coming to the ‘end of yourself’ is actually one of your greatest gifts of this season, because you are going to see Him do what only He can do.
“These places are becoming your ‘pillars of remembrance’, where you will forever look back with thankfulness and gratitude of mighty deliverance and demonstrations of His power. This will be a time of seeing more than you have ever seen. You will testify to His goodness and nature, releasing hope and strength, not only to you but to the generations to come.” (Lana Vawser)
“Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe; and Joshua said to them: ‘Cross over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, “What do these stones mean to you?” Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.’” (Joshua 4:4-7; NKJV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Read Joshua 4 in your favorite version. Over and over the Lord talks about these “pillars of remembrance” or “altars of remembrance”. God is drilling into His people the importance of building these monuments.
- Do a study until you have a revelation of the importance of these monuments. God said this over and over again in Lana’s prophetic Word above just like He did in Joshua 4.
- Let gratitude and worship rise up in you. Tell the Lord how thankful you are for bringing you through a dry and desolate season where despair, trauma, and hopelessness may have been your “norm”. Make those feelings “stones” that you place in an altar of worship to Him.
- Take the same stance for national issues that matter to you, such as abortion, racism, trafficking, gender confusion, addiction, etc. Say, “The waters of the Jordan are being cut off behind (the issue) and we will set up an altar of remembrance that (the issue) is never forgotten in America. Therefore, it can never raise its ugly head in our nation again. God is our Deliverer!”
A prayer you can pray:
God, reveal Your heart and ways to us as we read Joshua 4. You did not just tell the Israelites once to build pillars of remembrance. You said it again and again in Your Word. You only repeat something like this when it is very important to You. You did not want the Israelites to forget the fact that You delivered them from their enemies, miraculously sustained them in the desert, brought them into the promised land, then defeated their enemies for them. They had much to worship You for. They had much to remember. So do we! (Worship Him.) Thank You for speaking this Word of encouragement to Lana. Thank You for reminding us of all You have done to deliver and save us, to turn the dry season into a turnaround time of refreshing and harvest. All the trauma, despair, depression, and hopelessness will be forgotten, but may Your loving salvation never be forgotten by us. We will build altars of worship with the remembrance of Your miracles in our lives. Let us see national issues dissolved and miraculously overturned, resolved, and removed! Abortion, you are overturned! Poverty, You are solved! Racism, there is no more room for you to operate! Addiction, your captives are being set free! Jesus, You are our Savior and Deliverer! Amen.
Today’s decree:
We will set up altars of remembrance through worship and intercession for God is delivering America from its enemies!
