The Father is Leading Us to Worship in a New Way – Part 1

“The Lord said to me about 2 in the morning on Father’s Day, ‘I’m rearranging worship.’ Turn and tell somebody or text somebody, ‘The Father is rearranging the way we worship.’ This led me to dig in and study the Bible about this topic and the more I dug into it, the more I saw that the two are one – honoring the Father, and allowing the Father to rearrange worship. In order to understand this, we have to understand the term ‘father’ from looking at our heavenly Father. Too many define ‘father’ from our earthly relationships. If you do that, you are going to miss the dynamic of who Father really is in your life. You are also going to miss coming into a new place of worship. The description of Father begins with the first verse in scripture, ‘In the beginning, God (Father).’ ‘Father’ is the beginning concept each one of us has to have to come into the fullness of who we are. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.’ The power of creation is in Father. This begins to define who we are. Hebrews 1 and 2 are filled with this concept. Not only did Father create man, you are just another generation of His creation. Your earthly mom and dad may have created, with the egg and sperm, your body and soul, but your spirit was created by God. You will never be complete until your spirit realigns with the Creator. This is important to remember when you pray for people. Our spirit needs to be fathered by the One that made it.” (Chuck Pierce)

“But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

• Say, “Father, we honor You!”
• Acknowledge to the Father that He created you. Now, listen, don’t be flippant with this. This is important. He created you with a distinct personality, with distinct gifts, with a distinct purpose for the exact time in which you live. Let all of that sink in as you thank Him for creating you.
• Invite God to “father” your spirit. Understand that He is not like any earthly father you may have or have had. Look up scriptures on God the Father to help you.
• Read Hebrews 1 and 2, meditate on it and pray through it.

A prayer you can pray:

“Father.” What a powerful word that we don’t think about much. Heavenly Father. God, my Father, I honor You! I worship You and want to worship You more fully than ever before. Show me anew who You are as Father. You are my Creator. Show me who You really created me to be. What did You take joy in adding to my personality? What gifts did You give me and for what purposes did You give them to me? What are Your Divine purposes for my life? Good Father, what am I missing of Your goodness to me? God, I invite You to “father” my spirit. Minister, train, encourage, discipline my spirit, as only You, Heavenly Father, know how. I know I will be different as You do so. Forgive me for not thinking to invite You to do this before now. How much I may have missed, thinking You only cared about my salvation and basic belief structure. As I walk through the Word, learning about You as Father, teach me new things. Reveal yourself to me in new ways. I can feel the worship already rising up within me from a new place of expectation and gratitude! As I read through Hebrews 1 and 2, let my heart overflow with worship and honor to You, my Father! Amen.
