Transition Series – Worship Him
This is another simple thing to do in transition—worship Him. Put a CD on or sing your own words; just worship. Sometimes when I need direction, I will just get in my truck and drive with worship on. I’m not really going anywhere. I just need the solitude and the time in His Presence in worship. I build my own prayer CDs (you might use iTunes or another program). I put songs on there they really seem to get me into prayer and keep me there. I will put two or three hours of worship on there. As I listen, you know what? The Lord just draws me into His Presence and begins to speak to me. I don’t hear a voice telling me what to do. I just begin to think His thoughts. I know I’m thinking His thoughts, because they line up with His Word and they are not thoughts I would normally have. His wisdom, His will, and His plans are just transferred to me.
In Proverbs 3:5-6, there’s a word often translated “acknowledge”. But this word in the Hebrew is “yadah”. It is the number one word in the Bible for “intimate knowledge”, as in the relationship between a husband and a wife. It was the word when the Bible says that Adam knew Eve and she brought forth a son. It is experiential and intimate knowledge. So, He is saying in that passage, “If you need direction in all of your ways, in your decisions, “yadah” Me and I will direct your paths. Draw near to Him. It’s not like God is holding out on us until we tell Him how wonderful He is. Worship is not just telling God how great He is because He needs to hear it. It’s communion. God doesn’t need to hear the worship. He needs you.
“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.” (Proverbs 3:5-6; TPT)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Put your favorite worship music on. Heart to heart, worship Him.
- Meditate on Psalm 25:14, “The secret of the Lord is for those that fear him, and he will show them his covenant.” (JUB) “Secret is “cowd” (pronounced “sowed”). It is a word for intimacy. It means a couch or pillow. It literally means “pillow talk”; heart to heart communication. There are things about His covenant with you that He wants to show you.
- Meditate on this prophetic word: “He is saying to you, ‘If you will take a few minutes today and draw near to Me, I will draw near to you. The intimacy that develops will create the kind of walk with Me that allows Me to speak to you in ways that I can’t speak to you when you are busy and distracted. I’ll show you what to do from this place of intimacy.’”
A prayer you can pray:
[Today, simply worship him and walk through the prayer points above.]
Today’s decree:
God’s worshipping ones will become evident to unbelievers in our communities. Let our intimate walk with Him be obvious, and draw lovesick and empty souls to Him.
