Sometimes We Need Hope
I turned my computer on recently to find a picture of a river running through a peaceful pasture. The title on it said, “A river runs through Hope.” While the picture was of a real river in a real city, called Hope, it immediately hit my spirit as a prophetic Word for this hour. Many people in America need hope, for many reasons. There is a hope that only comes through Jesus. This hope leads to faith and faith leads to miraculous answers. We can put our hope in Him. He is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is the One where our help comes from. He is the One that has created and still sustains all things. He has the answers when we don’t. He can, when we can’t. When we are not able, He is more than able! “Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness,” say the words to the classic hymn, On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand. When we find that place of hope in Him in the midst of seemingly hopeless situations, peace flows like a river through us. Faith starts to rise in us. Power to get up, to intercede, and to take action can surge through us. Hope has a river running through it, and the river is the love of Jesus.
“May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace through your faith in him. Then you will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13; GWT)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Acknowledge that Jesus is the Source of all Hope.
- Declare, “Those that hope in Christ will not be dismayed. God will strengthen us and uphold us with His righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
- Say over the challenging situation you are facing, “I will be strong and courageous. I will not fear or be in dread, for it is the Lord my God who goes with me. He will not leave me or forsake me.” (Deuteronomy 13:6)
- With hope, proclaim over America, “Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.” (Proverbs 23:18; NASB)
- Worship Him!
A prayer you can pray:
God, you are so good! You are the source of our hope for every situation we face, in our individual battles and in our national ones. We put our hope in Jesus Christ today! Jesus, build a solid foundation of hope in us, for we have accepted Your sacrifice of love for us. You make us righteous. You forgive us all sin. You grace us to forgive those who harm us, purposely or accidentally. When we see darkness encroaching and fear begins to rise up in us, let hope arise and push back that fear. You have answers we don’t have. You can move on our behalf. You turn our flicker of hope into full-fledged faith. You take a spark of hope and stand us upright, ready to speak your words in intercession and decree, routing the enemy from our land. Your gift of hope settles our soul and carries us into Your Rest—a place where we know our God and know that You work valiantly and tirelessly on our behalf. From hope, let faith arise and our enemies be scattered! Victories are birthed from the humble beginnings of hope—Hope in You, Jesus. Amen.
Today’s decree:
America, hope in Christ!
