The Restoring of the Christ-anointings

In order to bring us into this new redemptive cycle we are in, God had to restore the five Christ-anointings. These, of course, are the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher that Ephesians 4:12 talks about. Christ broke Himself down into five anointings and gave those to the Church. The Church can only manifest Christ fully when all of those five anointings are being released through the Church. If a congregation only has a pastor gift active, then it is likely only representing to the world about 20% of who Jesus is. This is common and what we’ve come to expect from our churches—the shepherd, nurturer, healer, counselor manifestations. However, the Lord has been restoring all five gifts to the Body of Christ, so we are going to be able in this season to see the lost saved, healed, delivered, and discipled. Families will be strengthened and made whole. Governing leaders will also be raised up to sit in seats of local, state, and national government. We’ll rule in the midst of God’s enemies. The Church will rise up and solve local and national problems. The poor, the downtrodden, widows, orphans, and veterans will be cared for from a new level of compassion and strategy. God has brought us to a place where we are going to invade society with Kingdom strategies, and we are going to be listened to! The anointing on the teachers will help mature congregations and write legislation. Apostles will build, not just congregations, but businesses and cities. They will rule with righteousness, justice, and wisdom. Prophets are going to see, proclaim, and help straighten out, crooked and perverse societal situations, not just personal lives. You had better be asking the Lord where you fit into all this.

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Ask the Lord to give you revelation on the five-fold ministry, as you read the word of encouragement above.
  • Who said the five-fold grace gifts were only for those in vocational ministry? Who said they were only for inside the walls of a church building? What have we been thinking? Identificationally repent on behalf of the Church for limiting the Holy Spirit.
  • Intercede for the Body of Christ to know who they are. Pray for those with five-fold grace gifts to know how to start teaching, training, and equipping those in their spheres of influence.
  • Ask God to bring the Church into a unity of the faith and knowledge of Christ that increases our stature in His eyes and in the eyes of the world around us. We need favor and influence to make a difference.
  • Call forth five-fold strategies to solve local and national problems.

A prayer you can pray:

God, thank you for restoring the five Christ-anointings to the Church. We embrace and say we need the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers that Ephesians 4:12 talks about. We are so used to operating inside the church with a pastor gift at our helm as the shepherd, nurturer, healer, and counselor. How self-centered that is! Yes, the pastors are needed, but we need so much more, if we are to effect Kingdom change in the society around us! We have seen the lost saved, but new Believers also need to be healed, delivered, and discipled. Families need strengthening, but also made whole. Some of us are being raised up to sit in seats of local, state, and national government to rule in the midst of Your enemies. We can’t think these are secular positions. No, this is Your positioning, so we can disciple these areas of culture. Your people will be strategically positioned to rule with righteousness, justice, and wisdom. Your apostles will rise up and solve local and national problems. The poor, the downtrodden, widows, orphans, and veterans will be cared for from a new level of compassion and strategy. We are going to invade society with Kingdom strategies, and we are going to be listened to! Your prophets are going to see, proclaim, and help straighten out, crooked and perverse societal situations. Show each of us how we fit into all this. Thank you, Jesus! Amen.
