Declaring Hebrews 11

In order to move forward, we must often remind ourselves of the things the Lord has done in the past. Altars were raised over places of victories, places God moved on behalf of His people, and over places of defeat, such as over Achan’s body after it was stoned. These places of remembrance were critical to the Israelites’ relationship with God. These kept alive His moves on their behalf. They could literally look back and see what He had done to save, deliver, and bring hope and life to their nation. While we don’t raise up literal altars of stone over places of remembrance today, we do have moments recorded in His Word that we can read out, thereby building up our faith in Him. Hebrews 11 is one such place. The words in that chapter serve as a place to remember the good things God has done for His people in the past, and a reminder that He will do those things again for the Church in our time.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.” (Hebrews 11:1-2; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Read Hebrews 11:32-40 out loud. Let God touch your heart, realizing that He is remembering, also, even as you are reading.
  • Declare and decree the things God has done in the past.
  • Declare and decree what He is doing now in our lifetime.
  • Intercede for people you know who are modern day Gideons, Samuels, Sampsons, Jehus and Deborahs.
  • Say, “Let faith arise in God’s people and may this nation be fully turned around!”

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we thank you that we have stepped into Hebrews 11:32-40. You are raising up the Gideons, the Samuels, the Sampsons, the Jehus, and the Deborahs. You are raising up the prophets and apostles. You are raising them up to subdue kingdoms, administer justice, obtain promised blessings. You are using them to close the mouths of lions, to extinguish the power of the forging fire, and to escape the edge of the sword. Out of weakness, You are making them strong. You are making these unbeatable in battle and You are putting enemy forces to flight. We thank You that in this season women are getting their dead children back – You are ending abortion! And those who are hanging on the scales of justice over their voting on abortion will be removed from office and unable to vote that way any more in the future. Let faith arise in God’s people and may this nation be fully turned around! Amen.
