Esther Fast for the Court – Into Day 2
“When Justice Kennedy announced his retirement from the Court on June 27, we remembered how often we had prayed through the years for his reformation or resignation, in spite of the fact that a pro-life President appointed him. This is because, in 1992, he infamously switched his vote at the last minute and decided to uphold abortion in the pivotal case Planned Parenthood v Casey. That decision strengthened Roe v Wade and allowed the abortion total to now soar to more than 60 million lives lost!” (Lou Engle)1
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5; ESV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Declare, “Our next Supreme Court Justice will be politically impartial and will follow the U. S. Constitution.”
- Intercede the way open for the one who will guarantee “life”, as expressed in the Constitution, to every conceived child.
- Close the door to any political pressure or persuasion affecting Supreme Court Justices.
- Ask the Lord to give us a Justice who will humbly seek Him for wisdom, even as Solomon did. With that gift, they cannot go wrong.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, thank you for giving us a new Supreme Court Justice who will stay true to the U. S. Constitution. May they look to You and not be pressured to rule a certain way by outside political pressures or public opinion, or even their own opinions. We shut the door to that! We open the door to the one who will guarantee the constitutional definition of life from conception. Let our new Justice humbly seek You for wisdom. You are more than willing to give them that gift, even as You gave it to Solomon. Our nation will never be the same if that grace-gift is bestowed on the justices that will ask for it. In Jesus’, name. Amen.
Today’s decree:
Our Supreme Court Justices will not be politically swayed.
