The Five-fold Need Each Other
Since we now have all five anointings of Christ manifesting, there is going to be a synergy of these giftings. Pastors will pastor better, because there are apostles, prophets, evangelists and teachers. Teachers will teach better and with a different emphasis and understanding, because they are linked to apostles and prophets. Evangelists are going to evangelize more effectively, because they are aligned with apostles and prophets. They’re not going to waste their time in one place, because the prophets are going to say, “No, go over here.” Apostles can’t be effective leaders without the rest of the gifts alongside him. A general can’t lead an army if there’s no army! Everything is going to go to a new level.
“The eye can never say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you.’ The head can’t say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you.’” (1 Corinthians 12:21: NLT)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Read all of 1 Corinthians, chapter 12. Let it soak in.
- Think of those in the Body of Christ that have different gifts than you. Do you have trouble with the way their gift manifests? Talk to the Lord about it. Ask Him to help you appreciate and even need their gift. Pray for them with God’s heart for them.
- Ask God to show you how to work together with other giftings.
- Plan a day to prayer walk around a local school. Purposely invite others you would not normally partner with. Watch how God mixes your anointings together for transformation and kingdom advancement.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, open up fresh truth to me as I read 1 Corinthians, chapter 12. As I read, bring into my thoughts those in my congregation that have seemed less becoming to me in their gifts. Show me how to appreciate how You have created them and how their gift can work together with mine for Kingdom expansion. (Pray for one or two people you don’t always get along with. Plan a day to pray around a local school. Invite someone to join you that has a different gift mix than you do. Let God show you how your gifts work together.) Thank you, Jesus, for showing us how unity can help transform our community, and how our love for one another can draw the lost. Amen.
Today’s decree:
I decree that the grace-gifts are meant to work together to reveal Christ to our communities.
