What Man Was Meant For
God made man in His image and likeness. “Image” is “salem”, which means “a shadow of something” or “a phantom or illusion”. In the literal sense, it means that man was made so much like God that it was illusionary. Man was crowned with God’s glory. Adam may have literally glowed with the Glory of God. Many scholars believe that when Adam lost the glory, this is why he saw his nakedness. I like to think that when all the animals and creation saw Adam walk by, they probably did a double-take, “Wow, for a minute there I thought that was God.”
“So God created humans in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female.” (Genesis 1:27; GWT)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Worship God for His original plan for man.
- That longing in your soul for purity and sinlessness is deep in your DNA going all the way back to Adam. Let that desire propel you to repentance on a consistent basis. You can be free to be all that He created you to be. Be quick to repent.
- See Him replace your sinful and iniquitous nature with a new turban on your head, and new, clean garments, and brand new shoes to share the Good News. Thank Him that His grace does the cleansing, it is not a result of your works.
- Worship Him for His ability to transform us into the image of Christ – the only image of us that He chooses to see.
A prayer you can pray:
God, I worship You for the amazing plan You came up with to create man as family for Yourself. I feel such a depth of sorrow that mankind failed You and separated ourselves from You. I feel the fathomless depth of Your love for us and it is breaking my heart! I want everyone I know to have this revelation. You sent Your son, Jesus, to make a way so our sin could be forgiven and we could be close family again! The gratefulness I feel is overwhelming! Your profound grace gave me clean clothes, new shoes, and wrapped clean thoughts around my head, like a turban. Thank you for seeing me in the image of Christ. I am forever grateful! Amen.
Today’s decree:
I decree that the Ekklesia will understand that we are made in the image of Christ and we are His sons and daughters – His family!
