A Humble Request
The Ekklesia is standing firm. We are those in relationship with the Living God! We are Kingdom advancers. We are faith-filled Believers. We don’t back down in the face of adversity. Today, I listened in on a conference call with other prayer leaders regarding Hurricane Irma. Appointed prayer warriors humbled themselves in repentance for their state’s and this nation’s corporate sin and thanked God for His loving forgiveness and forgetfulness. Then, they thanked Him for sparing their state from the full effect of the storm. I think God loved that! I think He will answer their humble request.
“Then you called out to God in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time. He quieted the wind down to a whisper, put a muzzle on all the big waves. And you were so glad when the storm died down, and he led you safely back to harbor. So thank God for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves.” (Psalm 107:28-31; MSG)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Don’t let your faith waiver as you watch the news about Hurricane Irma, Church.
- Worship the Lord until you feel strong in the Lord.
- Repentance clears the way for humble intercession. Repent today of anything that could be in the way between you and the Lord.
- Read Psalm 107:28-31 above and think of the times He has saved you – so many times.
- Thank God for His love and mercy. Intercede for Florida and other areas in the storm’s path to experience God’s love and mercy.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, the news about the storm can be frightening at times. If I didn’t know You so well, it could shake my faith. Help me to keep my eyes on You. (Worship Him for a bit until you feel His strong Presence.) (Move into personal repentance, so your mind and heart and intercession will be unburdened.) (Read Psalm 107: 28-31 above.)Remind me of all the times You have saved me, so I can recount them before You. They have been far more than I can remember or even know, I’m sure. You can save me and You can save Florida and this nation from any storm’s destruction. Show forth Your love and mercy, Lord, as Your Body humbly seeks You about this today. Amen.
Today’s decree:
I look to You, God, to quiet Irma’s wind to a whisper and put a muzzle on all the big waves!
