Principles of Warfare

“When you begin to move forward in the Lord and life, satan will position himself against you to try to stop you. (See 2 Samuel 5:17-25) Believers who move forward are ‘Kingdom People.’ Satan hates kingdom people. Kingdom people are those who are in love with Jesus. They live by the principles of Christ’s kingdom and steward that in the earth. Kingdom believers are constantly seeking to bring Christ’s kingdom (His rule) into the earth. While some believers are trying to get out of the earth, kingdom believers are seeking to Heavenize the earth.” (Ken Malone)¹

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

• Get out your Bible and read 2 Samuel 5:17-25.
• Do you see satan approaching a situation you are in, a loved one you care about, or through something the nation is facing? Write it down.
• David inquired of the Lord. Ask the Lord about the item you wrote down.
• Write His strategy down. Did He give you a picture, a scripture, or a wise thought – something you never would have thought to do?
• Do what He said.
• Watch the enemy flee in the next few days. Keep praying until you see the answer – be as determined as David was!

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I thank you for Your Word! Reveal Your spiritual warfare secrets to me as I read 2 Samuel 5:17-25. (Tell the Lord the circumstance where you see satan encroaching on your life, your loved ones’ lives or the nation. Write that down.) Show me what You would like me to do to work with You to route the enemy. (Write that down, too.) I will do what You reveal to me. I can’t wait to watch the enemy’s defeat! Let’s go, Jesus! Amen.

Today’s decree:

I decree that the Lord will defeat my enemies, my loved ones’ enemies, and the nation’s enemies, as I humbly seek Him, then do what He tells me to do!
