Cabinet Confirmation Hearings
The U. S. Senate will be holding numerous confirmation hearings for President-elect Trump’s cabinet nominees, beginning tomorrow. Jeff Sessions’ hearing is the first. The Alabama Congressman will meet with the Senate Judiciary Committee at 9:30 A. M. EST on the 10th. You can find other scheduled hearings for the next few days here. All cabinet confirmation hearings are not yet on the calendar. The hearings are expected to be heated in some cases, since the Republican and Democratic parties are currently so far apart politically.
“Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.” (Exodus: 18:21; ESV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- You can find all of the cabinet nominees here. Pray for each one in accordance with Exodus 18:21.
- Ask the Lord for truth to be known, so that individuals above reproach can be confirmed and individuals of trustworthy character will not be denied their positions. If there is anything hidden, it must be revealed, as well, for the sake of our nation’s future.
- Intercede between the political parties, that conflict between them would be minimized for the sake of our nation’s reputation. We need a John 17 unity to fall upon them. We need a miracle.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, we pray for those that President-elect Donald Trump has nominated to serve as his Cabinet members—those that will run our nation together with him. We pray for their hearings to be without conflict. We ask that they would be men and women of intelligence who fear the Lord, are trustworthy, hate a bribe and know how to lead. If there is anything hidden, we do ask that it would be revealed, so that any short-comings cannot be used by the enemy at a key time in the future. However, we ask that they be confirmed without political conflict between the parties, if they are men and women of integrity. Grant our Senators a John 17 unity. Give us a miracle, Jesus. Amen.
Today’s decree:
The Cabinet nominees who are men of integrity will be confirmed without significant conflict, as our Senators are baptized by the Lord in a John 17 unity.
