January 24 – Cabinet Finalization
Inauguration Day was the first day Cabinet members could be officially confirmed by the U. S. Senate. You can see a list of individuals both nominated by President Trump and those confirmed by the Senate here. Many of the hearings for confirmation took place just before the President was inaugurated. Hearings for each nominee can go on for months, but typically are completed before the President’s first 100 days are complete. The faster the Cabinet members are confirmed, the faster the new government can move forward. Since we have such a strong ideological change between President Obama’s White and House and President Trump’s, there will be much to do. While there is a Republican majority in the Senate, which can help the process, there are bound to be many challenges by the Democrats.
“Choose some well-respected men from among you who are known for their wisdom and understanding, and I will appoint them as your leaders.” (Deuteronomy 1:13; NLT)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Pray for those individuals yet to be confirmed. Ask the Lord for truth to be known, so that individuals above reproach can be confirmed and individuals of trustworthy character will not be denied their positions. If there is anything hidden, it must be revealed, as well, for the sake of our nation’s future.
- Pray for each one in accordance with Deuteronomy 1:13, that these would be men and women known for having wisdom and authority in their areas of expertise for the Cabinet seat they will hold.
- Intercede between the political parties, that conflict between them would be minimized for the sake of our nation’s reputation. We need a John 17 unity to fall upon them. We need a miracle.
- Ask the Lord for the perfect staff members to be added to each governmental department. Proclaim the doors closed to anyone who would subvert the activities in each department, undermining the authority of the Cabinet Secretaries and the President, or who would cause delays, or who would carry out acts of espionage against our nation.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, this confirmation process of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees needs to be helped along. Unless there is a real reason that cannot be seen or heard in the natural, we pray that these individuals would approved quickly. We ask that no work of the evil one to cause delay will prosper. We ask that these men and women would be known for their wisdom and would carry an obvious anointing in their areas of expertise. Pour out a supernatural John 17 unity on the Congress, Lord, and let them work together for the sake of the nation. As each takes their place, provide them with the perfect staff members! In Jesus’ Name, amen.
Today’s decree:
God will provide a grace for the Cabinet confirmation process to move forward for the sake of our nation!
