The Price Paid For Removing One Simple Prayer

“Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our Country.” What price have we paid for removing this simple prayer from our schools, which acknowledged God’s protective hand in our lives? Birth rates for unwed girls aged 15-19 are out of control. Sexually transmitted disease among 10-14 year-olds is rampant. Premarital sex increased. Violent crime increased. Adolescent homicide has gone up considerably since 1962, even after taking into account population growth. The Bible prior to 1962 was used extensively in curriculums. After prayer and the Bible were removed, scholastic aptitude test scores dropped considerably. All of this is documented. This doesn’t even take into account 67 million aborted babies! This also doesn’t mention the rise of euthanasia. Our founding fathers did not even remotely intend to remove God from anything to do with government or public life.

“‘Even now,’ declares the Lord, ‘return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.’ Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave behind a blessing.” (Joel 2:12-14a; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Identificationally repent for the removal of prayer in our educational system, leading to the removal of the honoring of God in many spheres.
  • Declare, “We will return to You, honor You, and worship You in every sphere of society.”
  • Pray the simple prayer: “Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our Country.”
  • Welcome God into this nation. Declare that regardless of what our government officials have decreed, we, the Ekklesia, decree, “You are welcome in our schools, halls of government, and marketplace.”

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, forgive our Supreme Court Justices, presidents, school boards, and other governmental leaders that felt prayer did not belong in the public arena, but only in our homes and churches. How foolish that thought process is! It leaves a huge hole that every other form of religion and doctrine of men comes in and tries to fill—with disastrous results! However, in our generation, we will return to You, honor You, and worship You in every sphere of society. Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our Country. You are welcome in our schools, halls of government, and marketplace. In Jesus’ loving and forgiving name, amen.

Today’s decree:

God, we fling the doors of welcome open to You in America!
