Are You Ready to Vote?
A number of this nation’s founding fathers were clergymen. They did not have a problem with God in government. In fact, they designed our government so that He would be honored in it. They truly believed the government rested on the shoulders of Christ. A key hallmark of the government they structured was giving the people the right to vote for their own representation. They had had enough of kings and other rulers that did not allow private ownership of property, but taxed them unbearably. They wanted to be sure they had a say in how they were governed. They wanted their government to honor God.
We are coming quickly upon one of the most key elections in our history. I know that sounds trite and we have heard this before every election in the last couple of decades. The truth is that darkness is growing darker and bolder. The threat from globalists, anarchists, and secularists that hate God and our country is working itself into a tipping point. We cannot sit home and do nothing. Our prayers are critical and they should be primary. However, we must also get to the polls and vote!
In order to help you, here are some excellent tools designed by Believers:
- Click here to go to the MyFaithVotes website. You can find out if you are registered to vote or how to register if you are not. You can apply for an absentee ballot if you want to vote by mail. You can also receive election reminders and find out who the candidates are and what they stand for. Everything you need to know about your elections is on this one site.
- Next, click here to find out how to help others get involved and vote, as well.
- Finally, read the article titled, OurChurchVotes, from Jason Yates, CEO of MyFaithVotes. He explains how to get your Church involved in the voting process. Pastors, you are going to want your church to become a voting church.
For the sake of our nation and our children and grandchildren, I urge you to get ready to vote on November 3rd.
“Choose for your tribes wise, understanding, and experienced men, and I will appoint them as your heads.” (Deuteronomy 1:13; ESV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Thank the Lord for the government our founders designed which was meant to honor Him.
- We cannot abdicate our role in choosing our elected representatives. Pray for Christians to get out and vote!
- Intercede for pastors to be more bold in encouraging their congregants to vote. Ask the Lord to help pastors help their members know how to register to vote. Pray that they would preach on biblical issues and on the importance of choosing governmental leaders from the president on down.
- Ask the Lord to give you creative ideas on how to get out the vote. Start with prayer walking and prayer driving your own community.
A prayer you can pray:
God, we declare today that we honor those that You anointed to establish the United States of America. We are thankful that they did so by giving honor to You in our nation’s founding documents. They sought You and You helped them. Lord, we need that help again today, so we humble ourselves and pray. This is not a perfect nation and we have sinned against You in so many ways, but we continue to seek You for mercy. We desire to see You honored more publicly. We want to see our citizens cared for in the best way. We want to be governed by those that will look to You or at least seek advice from those that know You. Help us, Lord.
The most practical thing we can do toward this end is to vote. We need to educate ourselves on who is running and what they stand for. We need to pray and vote. We need to use every tool available to us to help us. So, we thank You, Lord that You have given a creative idea to Jason Yates and his team to design MyFaithVotes and OurChurchVotes. Please let the Church use those tools to pray and vote! In Jesus’ Name we ask these things, amen.
Today’s decree:
We will pray and we will vote! America will be saved!
