The Finishing Anointing in the New Era – Part 4

[We began a very encouraging series 7/16 from a message Chuck Pierce released on Sunday, 7/12.]

“The Lord is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows the day you are going to die and He knew the day He was going to put you in the earth realm. All order comes through His voice, because He’s the One that’s creating our future. He has already created what we’re supposed to be in this next season. Your end is actually the start of your new beginning. So, why do so many people resist their end or the ending of a season in their lives? If we really believe God is Alpha and Omega, why are we resisting ending a season when it is the beginning of a new season?

“Let me ask you a question. Have you ever procrastinated? I’m not a big procrastinator—at least in the things I need to do for other people. Procrastination is really interesting. Let me give you an example from my relationship with my friend, Barbara Wentroble. We travelled together on a team for years. Every 3 months she started a new diet. She always stuck with it. She had great results and looked incredible. At the beginning of trips, she would explain the diet to me. I would look down at myself and think, ‘Why can’t she just leave me alone?’

“So, one time she was on a high protein diet and she told me how to do it. We ate at a buffet. She went through and got her protein. I was right behind her and I got my protein and was doing great with my choices until we got to the biscuits and gravy. I said, ‘This isn’t going to work for me. Maybe I’ll start tomorrow or in a couple of months when you’re on a different diet.’ That’s called procrastination.

“I had to ask the Lord why I don’t always want to do something. If you’ll ask Him, He’ll tell you. Here’s the thing about procrastination: if you start something and you don’t get to the end of it, you don’t receive the anointing of resistance and celebration that allows you to start something again. Therefore, we have to learn the process of finishing.

“Here’s what happens with procrastination. It is a putting off. You go against your own better judgement and do one thing when you know you should do another. For example, I know I need to lose weight, but I’m going to go against my own better judgement so I can taste what I want to taste in the moment. Then, I can be satisfied in the moment. We procrastinate because we won’t allow a new way or a better way to rise up within us.”

“Look carefully, then, how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Ephesians 5:15-17; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship the Lord, because He is the Creator of all things! He knows the end from the beginning and He lines things up perfectly for us, even when we move out of His timing!
  • Repent if you have procrastinated in anything He has told You to do. Repent if you know you are actually resisting something He has told you to do.
  • Intercede for governing leaders from the president on down through the Congress, your governor, your county leaders, and your Mayor and Council. All of them are a potential stopping point for the nation moving forward. All of their decisions can work together to advance or stop our nation’s movement forward.
  • Say, “Our nation is  here at an ending and a beginning today.”
  • Declare, “Our leaders will need to stop going against their own better judgement and do one thing when they know they should do another! Straighten them out, Lord! Save us from their earthly wisdom!”

A prayer you can pray:

Oh God, You are magnificent! You are holy and wise, compassionate and merciful. You know when we are off the rails and how to get us back on. You do this for us as individuals, as congregations, and as nations. Your purposes are unfathomable, but we know You are working all things together for our good and for the fulfillment of Your Kingdom purposes! You line things up perfectly for us, if we will seek You. You hold things in a state of suspense at times until we find our place of alignment with You. When we are in fear, we run all around, get stuck, and can’t find our path, so give Your Church Your peace once again, so we can get on track!

We lift up our governing leaders. They are also trying to find the right way forward in a season where we have no frame of reference. Even the best of them are making messes. We desperately need prophets and apostles raised up to lead or to speak into our leaders. Help us, Lord! At every level, our nation desperately needs You. Our nation is at an ending and a beginning today. Old things are passing away. New things must come into being. Our leaders will need to stop going against their own better judgement and do one thing when they know they should do another! Straighten them out, Lord! Save us from their earthly wisdom in Jesus’ merciful Name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

God is doing a new thing in the nation and we will not resist it!
