The Horrifying Stories behind Louisiana’s Clinic Law – Part 2

“Louisiana’s (Mike) Brinkley, it turns out, was quite a fan of Kermit Gosnell. He even hired the abortion monster to work for him in Delaware (before Gosnell went to prison for killing patients and snipping the spinal cords of perfectly healthy newborns). And the similarities didn’t end there. Brinkley ran his ‘clinic’ in Baton Rouge just like Gosnell’s house of horrors. Allyson Tunnard was just 19 when she worked there — and saw things that will scar her for life. She remembers holding down patients who were yelling in pain during late-term procedures, watching how rough and abusive the doctors were, and the day she wasn’t allowed to call 911 when a woman started gushing blood because the abortionist had carelessly sliced through her uterus. ‘She passed several blot clots as large as my head… but [Dr.] Whitmore refused to let anyone call [an ambulance] because he was afraid the media would find out.’ Later, her charts said there had been no complications.

“These are the stories that sealed the deal for Louisiana. Mike and I joined forces. In the state legislature, I showed an undercover video of the atrocities taking place behind clinic doors — the stomach-churning, third-world conditions — which, as even the liberal media points out, silenced all the critics. But now, 20 years later, much more needs to be done. Abortion businesses, Delta worker Lisa Teegarden warned, ‘are much more concerned with making money than with providing safe health care.’ And so they’ve found a way around the regulations — putting women’s lives on the line with shoddy care.

“Just last March, a young mom — barely 15 weeks pregnant — went into the same Delta Women’s Clinic and had her abortion botched so badly that she had to have a complete hysterectomy, sterilizing her for life. Turns out, when she started bleeding profusely, the nurse went to give her emergency saline — only to find that the crash cart didn’t have any! To her horror, the other medicine she needed to save her life was expired.” (Tony Perkins)1

“For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, neither is their iniquity concealed from My eyes.” (Jeremiah 16:17; AMP)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Abortion is a horrific and nightmarish procedure. Cry out against the killing of our nation’s unborn.
  • Abortion clinics are often a “house of horrors”. Read the stories above and find a place of deep compassion for the patients, even as you feel a deep anger toward those that exploit them for money. Cry out for the closing of these clinics.
  • Cry out for the ending of abortion in America!
  • Intercede for the healing of the bodies and minds of those women that have had abortions.
  • Declare, “Every child will be a welcome child! God will provide a family for them!”
  • Intercede for the solutions to the horror of abortion: laws, changes of heart, adoptions, community support structures, couples and families prepared to receive children that would otherwise be lost to abortion.

A prayer you can pray:

God, we cry out against the practice of abortion in America! We declare that it is never okay to kill a baby in the womb. Stories like the ones above show the heart of some of these abortionists. They are making money and do not care about the women. You care about the lives of every baby in the womb, but You also care about every mother. Reading these stories of how women are being treated in abortion clinics is frightening. No one should be treated like that, especially a woman in such a vulnerable position. We ask You to close those clinics where women are taken advantage of. And, we ask You again, Lord, to hear our cry, forgive our sin, and end abortion in America!

As we ready ourselves for that hopeful day when abortion will not stain our land, we ask for solutions. The Church needs to get ready. We need centers to counsel women, provide for them, and provide for the children. We need adoption agencies raised up, as well as couples and families willing to adopt these little lives. We say, “Every child will be a welcomed child! God will provide a family for them!” We need changed hearts, changed laws, and changed culture. Thank You, Jesus, for making this dream a reality. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The lives of both children and women will be saved with the ending of abortion in America!
