Dealing With Epidemic Fear

“God has spoken very clearly about the epidemic of fear that is trying to get a foothold in people as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak. The Lord rebuked me two weeks ago about not calling the Body of Christ to prayer regarding the epidemic. So, I got input from prophets and intercessors from around the world. Also, I remembered when the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders met last Fall, there was a warning of viruses coming that had no cure. But God! Sharon Stone Black, a prophet from England, said this was a two-pronged attack of fear. She said, ‘There are two aspects of fear that need to be identified—fear of contagious disease itself and fear of lack.’ Some of that fear is for our businesses, the stock market and retirement accounts, the stability of our jobs, and just taking care of the needs of our families. Hoarding is already happening and may get worse, and that can hurt people who don’t hoard. We need to intercede into the fear.

“So, as I pondered all this, the Lord said to me, ‘If you will take away the pointing of the finger…’ What does this mean? It means that people think that somebody needs to take the blame. The Lord showed me there was latent racism against Asian people. So, if you are an Asian, I want you to know that we are very, very sorry for pointing our finger at you. Racism is wrong against any people group. We need to make sure we do not play this blame game, so there is nothing in the way of God releasing healing to our nation.”

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday… Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” (Isaiah 58:9b-10 and 12; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Bring your own fear of the Coronavirus to the throne of grace.
  • Tell the Lord about any fear you have of Him not caring for your family through this outbreak.
  • Present any fear of financial loss to the Lord.
  • Maybe you are even afraid you will lose your life, especially if you lay hands on the sick. Let Him comfort you in that. You don’t have to lay hands on anyone unless He directs you to or you have the faith for it.
  • If you have had any thoughts to lay blame for this epidemic on Asians or any other racial group, repent and ask the Lord to show you how to intercede for them, instead.

A prayer you can pray:

“So we say we do not have a fear of lack on us. God, You have promised us abundance. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but You promised us abundant life. We believe for blessing. We say economies are secure. We know that Satan wants to disrupt people’s lives. He even wants to affect our elections through this. He has done it before and he is trying again. If the markets go down, the elections shake. Even greater than a fear of financial loss is the fear of the loss of our own mortality. The enemy is trying to move us out of the fear of the Lord and into fear for our lives, but we are to be those that do not fear our lives even unto death. We need to overcome that fear of death and start looking at how to share our faith in Jesus Christ with those who are fearful and do not know Jesus. Satan wants to disrupt the Great Awakening, but we say, “It’s going to backfire on him!” You will turn this crisis into our opportunity. It is irrational for the Church to fear sickness and disease, if Jesus healed all who were sick. Jesus, You tell us to go and heal the sick, also. What are we doing allowing fear in our lives? We should be running to where the sick are in order to get our hands on them.

And, Lord, forgive us the pointing of the finger at any people group, especially Asians. It is not their fault that this disease is among us. They are victims also. We must have compassion for everyone afflicted by evil one. Forgive us and heal us all in the Name of the One who makes us whole—Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We will not be afraid, but will lovingly lay hands on anyone sick in the Name of Jesus, and they will recove
