Update on the Impeachment Hearings

“We are now three weeks into wall-to-wall coverage of House Democrats’ impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

“On the one hand, this is a historic moment – even if historically outrageous – and you may feel compelled to pay close attention. On the other hand, you may be sickened by the political posturing and the seemingly predetermined outcome. You would have sizable company either way. I am one of those closely tracking the impeachment proceedings. I think it is shameful and damaging to our country, but I want to know what is happening and I want to pray through it. In case you are not so glued to the play-by-play, allow me to summarize.

“Over the last three weeks, the House Intelligence Committee has held public hearings featuring the testimony of foreign policy officials. At issue is whether or not President Trump directly conditioned about $400 million in American military aid to Ukraine as an exchange for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky investigating the business dealings of former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden’s son. In other words, Democrats are attempting to establish a narrative that Trump is guilty of bribery.

“Even if this is all just political posturing, I do not believe the outcome is actually predetermined. There is a battle going on here, but it is not simply Republican versus Democrat. It is not just about the 2020 election. There is an ongoing spiritual battle between light and darkness in America, and the heart and soul of our nation hangs in the balance. God is using the Trump administration to do much good at home and abroad. This president is arguably the most pro-life, pro-religious freedom, and pro-Israel president we have ever had. Now look at how he is being attacked—through lies and distortions. Specifically, look at this impeachment proceeding. May God have mercy on us and help us. May He elevate those who truly seek truth and justice.”

“Justice is a joy to the godly, but it terrifies evildoers.” (Proverbs 21:15; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer (by Dave Kubal):

  • Pray for truth to prevail in this contentious time, not distortions and leaks.
  • Pray for peace and harmony in our nation. This impeachment crusade is doing harm, not good. It is only feeding impulses of anger and discord.
  • Intercede for the spiritual powers of peace, hope, joy, and love to overcome powers of rancor and destructive division plaguing our homeland.
  • Pray that Christians would wake up and see that there is a spiritual battle for the heart and soul of the nation.
  • Ask the Lord to intervene, to determine what justice is in this situation, and to set things in order in America.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we appeal to heaven for Your justice in the matter of the impeachment hearings of President Donald J. Trump. We intervene and intercede between what is and ought to be. Lord, our justice system is set up such that a person is considered innocent until proven guilty, but in this case, the president is being tried as if he is guilty and has to prove his innocence. Indeed, one legislator even made that comment! We ask for truth and justice to replace innuendo and rumor. We also ask You to heal the things that divide us. Only a move of God can. When a famous media personality like Bill Maher stresses his concern that America is so divided he fears another civil war, then we must have Your help! Give us Your supernatural peace, hope, joy, and love to overcome powers of rancor and destructive division plaguing our homeland. Wake the Church up fully! We have come a long way, but not all are paying attention yet. We must have our eyes open to the spiritual battle that is taking place for the soul of America. Intervene, Jesus. Determine this case. Show us what justice looks like in this matter. Set things in order in America! Amen.

Today’s decree:

God Himself will bring justice to the impeachment proceedings. He alone will determine the outcome!
