Going Through God’s Doors – The Door of Revelation

There is a door spoken of in the book of Revelation. In Chapter 4, verse 1, God speaks personally to John. However, the Lord spoke to me and said that this passage is for us, as well. One of the things that happens when we go through God’s doors is that we receive an increase in revelation. That is especially true in this season. He is showing many of us things about our future. He is showing us things to come.

I pretty much live in transition, but the Lord usually gives me a few months to finish something I am doing, and then to move into something else. In the middle of that season, I really need to press into Him to see what He needs me to see. Do you ever go through times like that? It seems kind of dark, but He still presses you into Him to see. You know something is coming, but He still hasn’t shown you exactly what it is. This is the time to press through the door of revelation.

The way this works is kind of like the dawn of a new day. I don’t know about you, but I love to be out there in the dark and watch the world wake up. You can kind of make stuff out, but then when the light gets brighter it may not be exactly what you thought it was. You keep waiting. When things finally get into focus you may see you are not where you want to be at all. Other times, you may be unsure of where you’re at, but when the light is bright and the picture becomes fully clear, you find you are exactly where you need to be.

When you go through the door, light comes. Revelation comes. You see things clearly and you know where you are, for better or worse. You can get your bearings and, if need be, adjust course. Go through the door of revelation.

“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.’” (Revelation 4:1; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Are you in a transition in your life regarding your relationships, business, ministry, or calling?
  • Are you having any trouble seeing your way forward? Do things seem more cloudy than clear?
  • Are you willing to see that you are not where you should be? Are you willing to see that you are exactly where you need to be?
  • Say, “Lord, I will step through Your door of revelation, so You can show me what must take place next.”
  • Ask the Lord what His next steps for you are.
  • Thank Him in advance for His provision, freedom, and rest, and look forward to a deeper level of intimacy with Him in the new season ahead.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we are stepping through the door of revelation today. Show us what we need to see. Whether its a businessman who needs to expand or relationships you are connecting or something to do with ministry, give us the faith to step through the door to see it. Whatever it is You have coming for us—a different emphasis, a book to write, or a relocation—help us to go through the door with faith. Show us how to navigate through any obstacles that might get in the way. Give us the courage to do this. Let us be convinced that beyond the narrow place we are currently in, there is a pasture with plenty of provision and rest and all that is needed for the new season You are leading us into. You are going to take us out of a cramped place and put us where we are supposed to be. You want to open the door of any cages we have been in and teach us to fly, to soar. You want to take any limitations off of us. We must see ourselves as You see us. We must see our way forward. Beyond the door is a “within-the-veil” relationship with You; closeness with You. As You reveal the way forward, we will find our perfect path, our perfect future, and we will find rest for our souls, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We are stepping through the door of revelation and finding the way forward for our lives and this nation’s future.
