Going Through God’s Doors – Out of the Prison

In Acts 16, Paul and Silas are in jail for preaching the Gospel. The enemy had come and imprisoned them, but they did the right thing! They began to worship. They began to praise the Lord. At the midnight hour, the Bible tells us that the angels came and an earthquake took place and the door of the prison was opened. This says to me that there is a door of freedom that is about to get opened. This door will release you from a place of confinement where the enemy may have succeeded in building a prison of pain or emotions or a set of circumstances. Maybe it was due to sin. Maybe it is from something you have struggled with all of your life. I believe that if you will believe the Word of the prophets, you will prosper. God’s Word says that. Judge the Word first, but if it’s God, believe it. This is the time you are going to go out.

The root word for “Yeshua” is  yasha, which means “salvation”. For example, in Psalm 118 where it says, “He will save us,” it is the word “yasha”. “Savior” also comes from this word. Originally the root was thought to mean “to be open wide” or “free”. It’s the opposite of “sarar”, which means “to cramp” or “trouble and affliction”.  In other words, “When one has plenty of room in which to move, he feels safe and secure.” So “yasha” means to be saved, to get deliverance or to help to get victory. It comes from the concept “if you’re confined, or if you’re bound, Jesus will come and set you free”. The word for “savior” means “plenty of room!”

He comes to open the prison doors and set the captives free. This is the season that He wants to do this for you. If you have struggled with something and have never been able to overcome it, know that this is going to be the season that you go free.

“If the Son sets you free, then you will be really free.” (John 8:36; GNT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • If you feel imprisoned in an area of your life, don’t even hesitate, throw your hands in the air and worship Him! Praise Him with abandon!
  • Keep going until you are sure Jesus is going to open your prison doors!
  • How tired are you of the prison you are in? Let your heart soar and even get intense! Don’t hold back in showing Him your love and trust and desperation to be free.
  • Declare, “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!”
  • Continue in intercessory praise for others you know who are bound or confined as if in prison. Believe the Lord can set them free, as well. See Him breaking their addictions, delivering them from the effects of sin in their lives. Freeing them from any other onslaught of the enemy against them.

A prayer you can pray:

Oh, God, I worship You! I praise You and exalt You! Great are You, Lord, and greatly to be praised. Worship, oh my soul. Worship the Lord, your Maker. Worship the One that created all things. I worship You, creator of my soul. I worship You for You have done and are doing marvelous things.  I lift my hands up. I will clap and shout. I will dance and jump and even run around the room! You are God Most High! You are Yeshua! You are freedom and deliverance! You are the One that opens prison doors and lets the captives go free! Satan can’t keep me in prison. I expect the prison doors to open! I expect the chains holding me in bondage to break! I expect to walk free today, for You are good and Your mercies are everlasting! Jesus, You are freedom. You are deliverance. You are salvation. You are the One Who sets me free! Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! Now, Lord, touch others. Touch my family members and friends. [Call them by name and call out the areas where the enemy has kept them bound. See the prison doors open. See them walk into freedom in Christ Jesus.] Jesus, my precious Savior, I love You even more today! Amen.

Today’s decree:

Those who Jesus sets free shall really be free!
