To Dream With God

God dreamed. He didn’t start by dreaming about a renewed or restored planet. His dream was not the earth. His dream was family. It was always about people. Earth and the creating, the renewing, and the refurbishing, was not the dream. It was for the dream. That has been all about the creating of a home for the dream. Every time we start to remove the dream from the people, we start defiling the dream. That’s when liberty turns into license. That’s when life evolves into things.

God dreamed of family, He created His family, then He lost His family. He lost His dream, but He said, “I’m going to get the dream back! I am going to take from you, Satan, what you stole, and I’m going to redeem the family back to Me. Before I had ever lost the dream, I had already made provision to redeem the dream.”

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17; KJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Ask the Lord to make us dreamers like He is.
  • Say,  “I need to start dreaming. If I stopped, I’m going to start again. I’m going to find the dreams that You wrote for me in Your Book and on my heart. I’m not just going to dream for myself. I’m going to dream for others. I’m going to become Your dreaming friend.”
  • Intercede for those who have once dreamed, but have had their dreams stolen or shattered by the enemy. Ask the Lord to heal their hearts and restore their ability to dream.
  • Intercede for those who are lost and have never known what it is like to dream together with God. Call them into the Kingdom of God-dreamers.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, make us dreamers like You. Your desire is that every Believer would dream. You wrote dreams for every one of us. Cause us to say, “I need to start dreaming. If I stopped, I’m going to start again. I’m going to find the dreams that You wrote for me in Your Book and on my heart. I’m not just going to dream for myself. I’m going to dream for others. I’m going to become Your dreaming friend.” We intercede for those who have experienced broken dreams. We know that You can heal broken hearts and restore the ability and the will to dream. You remove cynicism and pain. You heal hearts that have become hope-deferred. We ask for a resurrection of dreams. We pray for those that have never really tapped into the power of dreaming. We want to dream Your dreams, so let us get really serious about spending time with You, asking You, “What are Your dreams for me?” The true “dream quest” begins with coming to the cross. So, we call to the cross all those who are not yet a part of Your family, Jesus. We call them into that place of salvation, so they can begin to dream with You, too. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We are going to dream God’s family-building, nation-restoring dreams together with Him!
