Praying as Daniel Prayed for the Supreme Court

I know that there have been thousands praying and fasting and doing prayer journeys over the years for the shifting of the courts of America, and especially the Supreme Court. Since 2002, I have been saying to the praying Church, “You must pray for the courts. The door of death opened by the Supreme Court in Roe v Wade must be closed!” I have done about everything I can possibly do to say, “We must give all of our efforts to this! The future of a nation is at stake! We are warring for life and for the soul of a nation!” I am not being sensational when I say that. We are warring for the destiny of millions of people, so many lost to abortion. We are warring for the destiny of nations!

In Daniel 9:4-19, Daniel models how to pray for a nation. He begins with identificational repentance for the sins of the nation and then boldly asks God to act to against the wickedness harming the nation. Let me say, I do not ever pray that God would hurt anyone. I decree and pray God would bring His judgements against any false ideologies and against the powers of darkness in a situation. I ask him to remove court justices that need to be removed. I do not pray against people and I am not asking you, or anyone else to do that! I do not believe in that nonsense. Our warfare is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and wicked spirits in high places. We want our nation to choose life. We want people to be saved and come to know Jesus. We do not pray against people. We pray against the adversary, the devil.

“And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, ‘O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments….Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications… O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.’” (Daniel 9:4-5, 17a and 19; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray the prayer of Daniel (above) over the courts of America.
  • Thank the Lord for those who have prayed, taught, warned, and led intercession and prayer journeys, for the shifting of the Supreme Court.
  • Intercede for those leaders who set their faces like flint and will not stop until they see the shift of the Court in their generation and life restored to this nation.
  • Ask God to help the Church press in, praying until the Court is solidly shifted with two, three, or even four conservative constitutional, pro-life justices.
  • Decree that America will choose life, so that every child’s destiny can be fulfilled. As each child’s destiny is fulfilled, this nation’s destiny and the salvation of the nations can be fulfilled.

A prayer you can pray:

“O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments….Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications… O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.” (Daniel 9:4-5, 17a and 19; NKJV) Thank you, Lord, for all those who have been praying for this nation. Thank you for so many brave men and women who have prayed and even gone to Washington, D.C. to pray. Thank you for those who lead prayer at home and in their churches for the Supreme Court. Complacency and a laissez-faire attitude have at times infiltrated our ranks. Today, we see that the enemy has taken advantage of those moments and he has often used our Supreme Court to do his dirty work against us. We pray for all the spiritual leaders You have now raised up in this hour. Keep a steady flow of intercessors going into the nation’s capital to intercede at the Court, until it is solidly shifted. We need at least two more God-fearing justices on the Court in order for America to choose Life. Two more justices who can rule for Life and the hope that every child’s destiny can be fulfilled. We know You will do this, Jesus, amen.

Today’s decree:

America will choose life, so that every child’s destiny can be fulfilled.
