Agape Love and Prayer Will Govern Us

“In 2018, there were more ups and downs than we could have imagined. From the Supreme Court controversy which accelerated the sanctity of life debate, to the hair-raising midterm elections that sparked excessive strife, to the increasing pressures surrounding border security, the heat is on. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Interestingly enough, in the heat of the moment, most of America agrees with our president; national security is a major concern. Many also support his leadership for sanctity of life, no taxpayer dollars funding abortion, improving our economy, lower unemployment rates and higher economic growth rate, and his international gains.

As we move through 2019, with the March for Life and the Martin Luther King week ahead of us, please be encouraged to mend fences and build bridges. Agape love and prayer should be allowed to govern us; and we must not allow ourselves to be divided by politics. Let this be a year of overcoming crimes against humanity such as racism and abortion; not color blind, but with eyes wide open. Remember, love and prayer brought us through 2018 and will be needed this year, and must continue on into 2020 when we start the next round of elections.” (Dr. Alveda King)

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:9-12; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Intercede for President Trump. Use Alveda’s words above to help you pray for national security, the sanctity of life, defunding of abortion in America and internationally, and for a continuing strong economy.
  • Intercede for the March for Life on January 18th. If you are in the Washington, D.C. area, or close enough to drive in, consider participating. Your local area might be hosting a March for Life, as well.
  • Ask God to let this be a year of overcoming crimes against humanity such as racism and abortion. Repent of any areas in your heart and mind that don’t line up with God’s Word on these matters. Pray for any family members you have that operate out of a place of racism or disregard for life.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we lift up President Donald J. Trump to you today. Thank you for giving us a very bold President who believes in protecting the American people and protecting the unborn. We ask that all public funding for abortion in America, as well as funds set aside for international abortions would cease. We ask that President Trump would continue to work to strengthen our economy, so citizens have an increasingly better standard of living. We join together in prayer for the National March for Life on January 18th in Washington, D.C., and other locations across the nation. Protect those who are walking and praying for the ending of abortion in the U.S.A. Free our nation from the death culture abortion brings in. End racism, as well.  Help every Believer to have Your heart for one another, regardless of race, economic background, or denominational preference. Help us be an example of the agape love You have for those who don’t yet know You, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church in America will choose to walk in agape love and truth, and refuse to let Satan divide us!
