A Son is Given

Jesus. Jesus. A Son. A Savior. A child. A sacrifice. Wholly God. Wholly man. Eternal One. Love incarnate. He was given for us. Us! We squirrelly, sin-filled, prideful ones, which He created and deeply loves. Will we ever understand this? Not fully on this side of heaven, I am sure. But, there it is. He created man, and in His deep love and commitment to us, determined that Satan would not be able to steal us eternally away from Him. Temporarily, maybe, but not eternally. Some of us would recognize the Son and His plan of salvation. When we do, Isaiah 9: 6-7 will become our heart cry together with His. We will declare it over our lives and over this nation. We will believe that He meant every word of it and we will not stop declaring it until we see the reality of it in the earth.

“For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of His government and peace

There will be no end,

Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,

To order it and establish it with judgment and justice

From that time forward, even forever.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” (Isaiah 9:6-7; NKJV)
