PRAY IN UNITY

Day 34 – What is our Responsibility?

“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” (Revelation 12:11; NASB)

As opposition to all things of God increases around us, what are we to do?  As the church, you and I have several acute active responsibilities.

John 17:23 gives a clear call to become perfectly one so that the world may know the Father sent Jesus and loved them even as Jesus is loved.

Furthermore, we must speak up, stand up and show up – not in a militant or self-righteous way. His abundant love and grace towards one another must be our constant manner and our consistent language. Speak the truth but always in love—the greatest motive (see 1 Corinthians 13:13).

“Silence in the face of evil is Evil itself; God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak and not to act is to act.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Points for prayer:

To become perfectly one: be a witness to the world. (John 17: 23)

To show up: do not become weary or give up. (Galatians 6: 9)

To stand up: perfect love drives out fear. (I John 4: 18)

To speak up in culture: they overcame by blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. (Revelation 12: 11)
