Give Him 15 is joining a 40-day national call to prayer before the 2018 Midterm Elections. Here is today’s Focus:

PRAY IN UNITY

Day 33 – Will We Trust?

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.” (Psalm 56:3-4a; ESV)

Do you ever feel anxiety at the swirling issues in our nation, threats of wars and political conflict in the world, and personal lives around us in peril? It may seem that evil has the last word of the day. This year, I have been reminded of the final outcome from the end of the book of Job. After all the utter loss he endured, followed by restoration that was above and beyond, Job responded to the Lord. In chapter 42:2, Job says, “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”

As the Father lays our nation, leaders, and individuals on our hearts and minds for intercession, we must pray, then simply be still—trust and know. The firmness of Psalm 46:10 always instructs, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Selah!

Points for Prayer:

Remember, the Lord cannot be thwarted by anything or anyone.

Remember, the Lord will be exalted regardless of anything or anyone in our nation.

Remember, the Lord will be victorious despite anything or anyone in all of the earth.
