Passion-sized Weapons

“If we are going to forge warriors in God’s Kingdom, we must also forge weapons that they can wield. We are going to have a generation that requires a new design, a new schematic, a new tactical design for their warfare. The weaponry is going to shift in the new era. You’re going to say, ‘I already have plenty of weapons.’ Get yourself wall displays and get ready to mount them, because God is going to put some new weapons in your hand. You are going to be like David. Once he got the sword of Goliath, you never see him with a sling in his hand again. God will give you a weapon as big as your passion!” (Don Lynch)1

The weapons we use are not human ones. Our weapons have power from God and can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments, and we tear down every proud idea that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We also capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Read 2 Corinthians 10 and Ephesians 6:10-18.
  • Ask God to give the Body of Christ fresh revelation on “weapons of our warfare.” What weapons does God forge?
  • Intercede for the exchange of weapons that is coming. Pray that the Church will be willing to lay aside slingshots, so we can learn to wield the swords of the Goliaths we have conquered.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, thank You for Your Word! It is a treasure to my heart! As I read 2 Corinthians 10 and Ephesians 6:10-18, Holy Spirit, teach me. Show me things I have never seen before about the way You are equipping me to engage in spiritual warfare. I pray that the Body of Christ will cooperate with You in this season of Divine exchange. How can we move forward in Kingdom expansion, unless we are willing to lay down old weapons and old ways of thinking. Fill our hearts with Your passions and Your dreams! Stir our hearts to be excited to pick up the swords of our vanquished enemies! Why would we even want to try to fight with slingshots when we are given the might to lift our enemies’ swords? Thank you, Jesus! Amen.

Today’s decree:

God is giving us weapons as big as our passions to take down the giants of this nation!
