This is America?

You can’t stand in the Supreme Court building, not even on the steps, and pray in an obvious way. You have to be all the way out on the sidewalk, if you don’t want security stopping you. You can’t stand in the Court building or on the steps and read your Bible. If you don’t stop when they ask you to, they will take you to jail. I have been in there and read scripture and made declarations, but I had to be very careful. On one occasion, the only way we could get away with it was to cluster as if we were a tourist group. We couldn’t bow our heads or close our eyes. We had to pray with our eyes open and act like we were conversing together. I was incensed as I read that scripture into the courtroom. I had to hide in that cluster of people to do it. We are not talking about making a disturbance or bothering or interrupting a person or the Court’s proceedings. I still had to hide to read a scripture into the Supreme Court! That, sadly, is America today.

So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: ‘How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.’” (Mark 3:23-27; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Identificationally repent for the sad situation that we cannot pray openly and respectfully in or on the steps of the Supreme Court building.
  • Announce to the Court that the atmosphere is about to change!
  • Thank the Lord for bringing this dark situation into public view, so it can be exposed and dealt with.
  • Turn toward the Supreme Court from wherever you are in the nation. Find scriptures and pray them that direction, as if you are shooting arrows that way. “See” them hit the mark!
  • Get The Battle for America. Listen and pray through it.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, this is America, the land of the free and the brave. How is it that the strongman at the Court has so terrorized us? Who is this spirit and what is this political motivation that keeps the Court prayerless? We say, “Enough!” Lord, forgive our nation for determining that our  highest court is fine without prayer. Forgive us for tolerating the ousting of intercessors from this head of our judicial system! We will not live in fear any longer. We honor our authorities, but our First Amendment rights are being trampled on at the institution meant to uphold those rights! Thank you for bringing this into the light, so it can be dealt with! Give me specific scriptures to declare and decree to the Court.  I will believe they will hit their mark and the strongman at the Court will be uprooted. Thank you for teaching us and training us how to governmentally intercede, Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ powerful name, amen.

Today’s decree:

Americans will soon be able to pray freely at the Supreme Court!
