Remember the Season We Are In

I used to go to Washington, D.C., on a regular basis. Then one day, about seven years ago, God said to stop going for a while. It was like He was saying, “Just leave it alone for a while.” But one day, my wife charged into my office and said, “You have to go back to D.C. It’s time.” So, I rerouted some trips I had already planned in order that they would go through D.C. A couple of days before I was going, I was at a conference with Chuck Pierce, and he didn’t know I was going. He took out a stake and said, “The Lord told me to bring this stake and give it to you. The Lord says, ‘Go to Washington, D.C., this week and re-stake claim to America.’” So, we went with great confidence and faith knowing this was an assignment from God. We went, and we felt led to pray at the White House. It was as if God was standing there telling us what to decree. Afterward, a man walked up to us and, as he passed, he said 6 times, “Mercy.” Then, he disappeared into the crowd. I believe he was an angel, and the Lord wanted us to know that He heard our prayers and that He wanted to give this nation mercy, not judgement.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations3:22-23; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Acknowledge that God speaks to the prophets.
  • Acknowledge that He directs our path and even the words we pray, if we will listen.
  • Acknowledge that this is a season of God’s extending mercy to America, even as He stated prophetically to Chuck and me.
  • Pray Lamentations 3:22-23 over our nation every day for a while, until it really sinks in. Without this revelation, we may not understand what is taking place.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I acknowledge that You speak to Your prophets. In fact, Your Word says You don’t do anything unless You tell them first. I acknowledge that You give us direction in supernatural ways and that You give us words to pray, to declare, and to decree. Thank you for Your mercy, Lord. Thank you that your mercies are new every morning, not just over our personal lives, but over our nation, as well. Where would we be without You? Put this deep in my spirit, so I do not grow fearful and think You are judging us nationally. I must continue to stand for mercy and see through Your eyes of mercy in this season. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Today’s decree:

I decree that the United States is in a season of Mercy!
